Applications for registration of Semiconductor Product Topographies
should include certain information and should be accompanied by
certain documents, as follows:
Compulsory Information
Full name, nationality, occupation, address and fiscal identification
codes (if applicable) of the Applicant(s),
Title of the Topography,
Date and Country of the First Commercial Use of the Topography
(if applicable).
Optional Information
Full name(s) and address(es) of the Inventor(s),
A brief description of the Topography,
Option to defer the public availability of the application papers
until the First Commercial Use (if applicable).
Compulsory Documents
Drawings and/or Photographs of the Topography,
A Declaration concerning the date and the Country of the First
Commercial Use of the Topography (if applicable),
A Power of Attorney (no legalization is needed). It should be
underlined that, if the First Commercial Use of the Topography
occurs before the application is filed, then it should be filed
within TWO years from said First Commercial Use date.
As concerns the drawings or photographs, they should include
drawings and/or photographs showing the configurations of the
layers of the semiconductor products, or
drawings and/or photographs showing the masks or parts of masks
for manufacturing the semiconductor products, or
drawings and/or photographs showing the individual layers of the
semiconductor products.
