It is possible to carry out a search by any type
of subject matter and/or name both nationally and internationally;
the searches are carried out by consulting the most up-to-date databases,
both free of charge and fee based, currently available.
However, there are sometimes limits relative to how up-to-date
the databases actually are or other limits (for example, the secrecy
of some patent applications for a period of eighteen months from
the filing date), which must be specifically identified for each
case and can affect the reliability of the results.
