The adhesion of the European
Community to the Geneva Act of the The Hague Agreement concerning
the international registration of industrial designs and models
On December 18, 2006, the EU Council adopted decision n.
2006/954/CE, approving the adhesion of the European Community
to the Geneva Act of the The Hague Agreement concerning the international
registration of industrial designs and models, and Regulation
no. 1891/2006, modifying EU Regulation no. 6/2002 and EU Regulation
n. 40/94, in order to validate the adhesion of European Community
to the Geneva Act of the The Hague Agreement.

With this adhesion, a link will be created between the Registered
Community Design or Model and the International Registration System
under the Geneva Act, by virtue of which Designers will be able
to obtain, with a single International Application, protection
of their Designs or Models within the European Community by way
of the Registered Community Design system and within the Countries
covered by the Geneva Act.
