From July 1, 2007 the General
Direction of S.I.A.E. (Authors’ & Publishers’
Italian Society) – Section OLAF has activated a service
for the filing of industrial plans.
The new service offers an instrument to protect legally
the job of firms and planners: in fact it is possible to file
at S.I.A.E., for a period of 4 years and with moderate costs,
copy of the documents relative to a plan.
Thereby the author, that is the creator of the industrial design,
has got a proof – with fixed date – of the existence,
as well as the paternity of the work.
In case of contention on the date of creation or on the paternity
of the plan, the filing at S.I.A.E. will constitute valid legal
proof.
The documents, sealed by the applicant, are secret and do not
preclude a subsequent request of Patent.
