Before joining the team of Barzanò & Zanardo in 2011, I worked for some 17 years in the intellectual property departments of multinational companies in the fields of chemistry and pharmaceuticals.
My lengthy corporate experience allows me to immediately understand the needs of innovation-conscious companies as well as their interactions with competitors, so that I may help them increase their technological holdings, implementing the most suitable protection strategies.
I manage a large clientele, made up of both Italian SMEs and multinational companies, working with management in order to better handle and develop the intellectual property portfolio. Furthermore, I provide assistance in the negotiation of agreements with third parties and for litigation management.
Along with patenting, which is still an important part of my work, I manage numerous opposition and appeal procedures before the EPO, and disputes in Italy as a partisan technical consultant, both for Italian and foreign clients.
I have extensive experience in many technical fields, particularly in: polymeric materials, catalysts, pharmaceuticals, organic synthesis processes, petrochemicals, industrial processes for the treatment of plastics or elastomeric materials, processes for the treatment of urban or industrial waste, production of biodegradable materials and their applications.
Currently, I am the manager responsible for the Milan-based team of professionals working in the chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors.
I am a European Patent Attorney licensed at the European Patent Office, a licensed attorney in industrial property at the Italian Patent and Trademark Office, and licensed design attorney at the EUIPO. I obtained the qualification of European Patent Litigator before the UPC. I am a member of the Institute of Professional Representatives before the EPO (epi), and a member of the Italian Board of Industrial Property Consultants.
