My academic background and my professional experience are focused on food, and include food chemistry, microbiology, food processing, and nutrition. This fundamental knowledge has allowed me, over the years, to extend my professional activity to inventions belonging to different technical sectors, such as the pharmaceutical, biological, agronomic, petrochemical and cosmetic sectors.
I assist clients in the drafting and filing of patent applications, and subsequently in the examination proceedings before the Italian Patent and Trademark Office (UIBM), as well as the European Patent Office (EPO). I have experience in opposition proceedings and appeals before the EPO, which include participation in the related hearings. I have also gained experience in patent legal disputes in Italy as a technical consultant. My activities also include drafting opinions on patentability and freedom to operate; letters of formal notice; and prior art searches. I also have experience in the field of design protection.
Thanks to an accumulated knowledge of Italian and European patent law, I can direct my clients, including start-ups, SMEs, academic institutions and multinational companies, to the patent protection strategies that best suit their needs.
I am authorized to represent clients at the European Patent Office (EPO), the Italian Patent and Trademark Office (UIBM) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), and licensed as a European Patent Litigator. I am a member of the Italian Board of Industrial Property Consultants and a member of FICPI.
